The Federal Emergency Management Agency has denied the Hoosier State's request for federal assistance in 19 counties after flooding and severe storms in July.
The state requested assistance for government and certain non-profit organizations for storms that hit the state between July 7-29.
Pence says the state is appealing FEMA's decision, however. He's directed the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to pursue that appeal.
The counties in the state's assistance request include Adams, Allen, Benton, Brown, Clark, Fulton, Huntington, Jay, Jefferson, Jennings, Marshall, Newton, Pulaski, Scott, Vermillion, Wabash, Warren, Washington and Wells.
