All IU Students Studying Abroad In France Safe

Indiana University says all students who are studying abroad in France are safe after multiple attacks in Paris Friday killed at least 129 people. ISIS is claiming responsibility for the attacks.

IU says there are 15 IU Bloomington students and two IUPUI students studying in France this semester. The university says other students who are studying in Europe and may have been traveling to France are also safe.

"The safety of our students while traveling abroad is of the utmost importance to the university," IU wrote in a Facebook post. "At this time, the university is not recommending that students return to the United States, but we will continue to closely monitor events in Paris and around the world to provide as much support as possible to our students who are studying abroad."

IU says it has reached out to all French students currently studying at the university and will provide any support needed.
