Good morning! Here are some of the stories we are following today.
1. Could the firefly become Indiana's state insect?
A group of students from Cumberland Elementary School in West Lafayette are attempting to make the firefly the new insect if Indiana.
State Sen. Ron Alting R-Lafayette is sponsoring the bill. Students sent more than 800 letters to lawmakers lobbying for the bill's passage.
2. A new book highlights 200 of Indiana's most influential people in its' history.
A pair of history professors from Indiana University Southeast have taken the last four years to compile a book of the 200 most influential people in Indiana's history.
The book, which coincides with Indiana's bicentennial celebration next year, includes famous Hoosiers such as John Wooden, Herman B. Wells, and former president, Benjamin Harrison.
3. The Pacers will try and knock off the undefeated Golden State Warriors.
Coming off of their NBA Championship, the Golden State Warriors have opened the season 22-0, and they travel into Bankers Life Fieldhouse tonight for a matchup with the Pacers.
The Warriors have a 26-game winning streak dating back to last season, which is the third longest in NBA history.
