Indiana University officials say two males — one of which was armed with a sharp object — attacked a 19-year-old female student early Friday morning in the area of Bryan Woods near the Sample Gates.
According to a statement from the IUPD, the woman said she was grabbed by the two men — one of them reportedly grabbed the woman's throat with one hand and placed a sharp object against her throat with the other.
"The victim stated that as she fell to the ground the suspect lost his grip and she was able to escape. After realizing she was not being pursued, the victim contacted a friend for a ride back to her residence," the statement says.
The woman was treated for minor cuts and scratches at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Police say they're still searching for the college-aged suspects.
IUPD officials say the one of the suspects was wearing a red sweatband on his his right wrist.
