No White Christmas This Year

It may not feel like winter this December, but the winter solstice is still on the calendar so get ready for the dark today. The winter solstice--— marking the longest night and shortest day of the year. With cloudy skies and rainy conditions--the day may seem even shorter.

And if you are dreaming of a white Christmas---put those dreams aside.

"The long range forecast shows we're not going to," says Sonia Mark with the National Weather Service-Indianapolis. "There's increased precipitation but not necessarily but in wintry precipitation and temperatures look like they're going to stay at or slightly above normal."

The National Weather Service says we can expect rain and temperatures in the low 50s on Christmas Day.

"I just know that it bums people out that they're not going to have a white Christmas. Some people though don't seem to mind; they don't seem to mind having a green Christmas."
