Both Trump and Cruz spent a significant amount of time campaigning in Indiana ahead of the highly-anticipated primary.
During a stop in South Bend the night before the primary, Trump said winning the Hoosier state would make his nomination as the GOP candidate inevitable.
"If we win Indiana, it's over, folks," Trump said.
Trump said winning the Hoosier state would allow him to focus his efforts on defeating Hillary Clinton, who is leading the Democratic race.
Thank you Indiana, we were just projected to be the winner. We have won in every category. You are very special people-I will never forget!
