Assistance Program To Help Low-Income Families With Energy Bills

More than $67 million in federal funds is heading to Indiana to help low-income families pay their energy bills and make cost-effective home energy repairs.

The Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families says Tuesday in a release that the money is part of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

Office of Community Services Director Jeannie Chaffin says the funds will allow families and individuals with limited means to "use their income to pay for other critical necessities such as food and medicine."
