Bloomington Lifeguard Honored For Saving 5-Year-Old's Life

A Bloomington lifeguard was honored Thursday for saving a life.

Ryan Killoren pulled a 5-year-old from Mills Pool last Monday and successfully resuscitated him. Killoren had received CPR training just the month before from the Bloomington Fire Department.

The emergency first responders who arrived at the scene credit Killoren's knowledge of lifesaving skills and decisive actions for saving the child's life.

The lifeguard is a recent graduate of Indiana University.

Bloomington mayor John Hamilton honored him for his heroic act in a ceremony at Mills Pool.
