A former Columbus Police officre is accused of stealing drugs from the evidence room.

Investigators say 38-year-old Jeremy Coomes stole cocaine, meth, marijuana and other controlled substances that were seized by police.

Coomes was a supervisor with the Columbus Police Narcotics Unit for nearly four years and resigned in October.

Columbus Police asked the Indiana State Police to investigate after an audit found the drugs went missing from the evidence room.

Coomes was arrested Wednesday afternoon and faces ten theft and drug charges.
