Jim Banks Secures GOP Nomination In U.S. 3rd District

State Sen. Jim Banks won the Republican nomination for the U.S. Congressional seat.

Six candidates were vying for the Republican nomination for Indiana's 3rd District.

The real estate broker from Fort Wayne is also in the Navy Reserves. He was deployed in 2014.

Banks defeated Republicans Mark Baringer, Liz Brown, Pam Galloway, Kevin Howell and Kip Tom to win the nomination.

He'll face Tommy Schrader, the Democratic nominee, in November.

Republican Marlin Stutzman vacated the 3rd District seat to run for the U.S. Senate.
