INDOT is holding a public meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday at Martinsville High School to collect public input about the I-69 extension. Attendees will be able to ask questions and look at maps that show preliminary exits and access roads.
State Road 37 is the preferred route for the last stretch of I-69 from Martinsville to Indianapolis.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that decision last week, saying the recommended path will save 11 minutes of driving time to downtown Indianapolis.
But INDOT spokesperson LaMar Holliday says there are still a lot of details up in the air.
"Even though State Road 37 is the lone route that needs to move forward, there's still a lot that needs to be done," says Holliday. "So we still can't move all the way forward until we have a federal decision in early 2018."
The meeting will also include a formal presentation and an opportunity for Q&A.
