The Indiana Department of Transportation is narrowing down the number of proposed routes I-69 will take between Martinsville and Indianapolis. INDOT revealed five different routes last year that will extend the interstate through Morgan County and possibly Marion, Hendricks and Johnson Counties.
The agency took public comment in November and December. At those public hearings the majority of people voiced support for a route that would follow SR-37.
INDOT officials pledged to review each comment and evaluate the impacts the different proposals could have on costs and the environment.
INDOT will announce the remaining routes for I-69 later today in Martinsville.
