Monroe County voters overwhelmingly supported the school corporation's referendum, with 81 percent voting in favor of the measure Tuesday with 88 percent of precincts reporting
The referendum will help support several positions in Monroe County schools. The rate of 11.5 cents per $100 of assessed property is less than the corporation asked for six years ago.
That measure earned the corporation about $7.5 million each year. It helped fund teacher salaries, programs and extracurricular coaches.
