Peyton Manning today announced his retirement from professional football.
"I've learned a lot through my mistakes, stumbles and losses in football," Manning says. "I've also learned that this game is a mighty platform that has given me a voice than can echo well beyond the game."

Peyton Manning will announce his retirement today in a news conference.
Manning ended his career with a win. The Denver Broncos won Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7, for Manning's 200th career win including playoffs.
He was drafted by the Colts in 1998, and played in Indianapolis for 14 years.
Manning won 141 games including one Super Bowl with the Colts, but as great as his impact was on the field, his legacy will continue off the field. The St. Vincent Children's Hospital was named after Manning in 2007. It's now known as the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent. He's had a relationship with the hospital even after leaving Indianapolis.
The Broncos press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m.
