Police Release The 9-11 Call From Cummins Plant Shooting

Seymour Police have released the 911 recording notifying police of the deadly shooting that took place last Thursday at a local Cummins plant. A man called and calmly told the dispatcher, "We have an active shooter situation."

Investigators are still trying to uncover what led 37-year-old Ching Shin to allegedly shoot and kill his manager, 49-year-old Ward Edwards of Columbus.

The 911 call doesn't revel anything about the details of the shooting.

Fox 59 in Indianapolis has a transcription of the call:

Dispatcher: Where are you, sir? Is everyone out?

Caller: We are working on evacuating.

Dispatcher: Just stay on the phone with me, ok?

Dispatcher: Don't know where the shooter is at this time. They are evacuating.

Dispatcher: Sir, you have no idea where the shooter is at, correct?

Caller: That is correct. We do not.

Dispatcher: Still no idea where the shooter is at.

A Cummins spokesperson says the Seymour Technical Center remained closed Monday and won't reopen until possibly next week. Some employees yesterday went to work at other locations.
