Update: Sgt. Buckley Released From Hospital After Shooting

Methodist Hospital has released Sergeant Jordan Buckley.

Police say Buckley will participate in the procession from Indianapolis to Kokomo this afternoon.

Police have identified 25-year-old Evan Dorsey as the suspect in the shooting death of Howard County Deputy Sheriff Carl Koontz.

Koontz died Sunday morning from gunshot wounds sustained a few hours earlier. Police say suspect Dorsey is dead after exchanging gunfire with the officers.

Koontz is survived by his wife and an 8-month-old son Noah. Police will hold a moment of silence at 11:10 a.m. today, marking 24 hours from the time Koontz died.

Multiple police agencies will participate in a procession today at 2 p.m. Koontz's body will be moved from Indianapolis to Kokomo.

Sgt. Jordan Buckley, age 35, was also shot. Police say Buckley is in good condition, but it is not yet known when he will be released.

Funeral arrangements for Koontz have not been released.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
