The National Weather Service says a record 3.78 inches of rain fell on Indiana Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 2.49 inches set in 2006.
The record includes heavy rain falling on roughly the southwest half of Marion County and much of Hendricks, Morgan, Johnson and Shelby Counties.
NWS predicts more rain this week, with possible thunderstorms Wednesday night and storms throughout the day on Thursday. Friday is expected to be the first dry day, leading into dry weather for the weekend.
Flooding is continuing this week, with warnings for the area along the Driftwood River in Bartholomew County and along the Muscatuck River at Wheeler Hollow in Jennings County.
Monday and Tuesday's widespread storms sparked power outages throughout the state, with as many as 16,000 Duke Energy customers without power.
