Bloomington Utilities Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19

A Bloomington Utilities Department staff member is the 11th city employee -- including Bloomington Transit employees -- to test positive for COVID-19, according to a Monday news release from the city.

The release said the employee is a member of CBU's Engineering division and has been working remotely. The employee began experiencing symptoms Sept. 8, was tested Sept. 9 and received the positive result Sept. 10. The employee is now on paid leave while recovering from the virus.

This is the first known case of COVID-19 among City of Bloomington staffers  since early August.

The city said the employee does not interact regularly with the public at work.
