Monroe County Community School Corp. students will continue with in-person instruction for at least another two weeks.
The metric committee met Tuesday to discuss the status of school for the two weeks beginning with Sept. 21.
The district will continue in its Yellow Phase, which means elementary students are attending classes in-person five days a week. Middle and high school students are learning in a hybrid model – with some in-person instruction and some online.

The metric committee is looking at a variety of data sources to determine the status of school including: ISDH data on the county’s seven-day positivity rate and the seven-day average of new positive cases; positive case data from Harvard’s Global Health report; COVID test turnaround time; contact tracing.
Monroe County’s positivity rate is currently 8.8%, which is up from the 7.4% rate last week, and daily positive cases continue to trend upward. If the positivity rate exceeds 10%, the district could decide to enter its Red Phase, which means all student learning will go online.
The metric committee will make its next determination Oct. 6 for the school week beginning Oct. 12.
