Indiana University officials say it’s extremely common for a student living on Bloomington’s campus to have been selected more than once for COVID-19 mitigation testing.
Dr. Aaron Carroll is the Director of Surveillance and Mitigation at IU. He said much of IU’s mitigation testing has focused on the Bloomington campus because that is where the most spread has been.
“Last week, and this week and this week, we are testing every single person that lives in a Bloomington dorm,” he said.
Carroll said IU plans to have its testing capacity ramped up by mid-October, with the goal that eventually all students on campus will get tested at least once a week.
He said IU’s team of health officials evaluates testing plans week-to-week, and on Fridays has a plan for the following week in place.
