An Elanco spokesperson said none of the layoffs were in the Bloomington area. But fewer than a dozen of them will be in Indiana, she said.

The announcement comes two months after the Greenfield, Indiana-based company acquired Bayer Animal Health in a closing estimated at over $7 billion.
The layoffs are primarily in sales and marketing, with some in research and development; manufacturing and quality; and back office support, Elanco said in a statement.
The restructuring is the first since Elanco acquired Bayer’s veterinary drugs unit in August.
