A new addition to Bloomington's downtown restaurant scene is  The Chef's Table, which opened this week at 208 South Dunn St.

The bistro-style eatery is open for dine-in and grab-and-go service, offering a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches and even tacos.

Owner and chef Chris Francis also owns and operates local catering company Francis Culinary Creations, known for its barbecue.

As a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, Francis said his fare is "not your typical food you'll find in Bloomington."

Specialty menu items include a black truffle burger and a garlic aioli burger with roasted hatch chilis.

Francis said he hopes to be able to offer cooking classes and a private dining experience "once things settle down."

The Chef's Table is open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
