Monroe County Community School Corp. high schools and middle schools will return to in-person classes five days a week beginning next Monday, Oct. 12.
A voicemail sent to parents Tuesday said the district’s metric committee has deemed all data has put the corporation fully into the Phase Green.
MCCSC’s COVID-19 metrics table indicates that if the county’s seven-day positivity rate is below 5%, students can return to in-person instruction. The latest data from the Indiana State Dept. of Health currently has Monroe County’s rate at 1.4%

Thirty-three percent of MCCSC’s students have opted for online learning and will continue with that. Elementary schools, Hoosier Hills Career Center, the Academy of Entrepreneurship and the Graduation School have been going in-person.
Today’s announcement said Bloomington High Schools North and South as well as Batchelor, Jackson Creek and Tri-North Middle Schools will transition to five-day in-person learning on Monday.
