Health administrators in Monroe County announced Thursday a new COVID-19 testing site set to open later this month in downtown Bloomington.

A joint news release from the Monroe County Health Dept., Monroe County Board of Commissioners, City of Bloomington, IU Health and Indiana University said the new site will provide testing for residents even when the OptumServe site at the National Guard Armory is decommissioned.

The new site will allow for 200 appointment-only tests each day. It's funded by community organizations and a grant from the Indiana State Dept. of Health.
