Indiana’s count of new coronavirus cases rose by 1,579 on Sunday, after three straight record-breaking days of reported infections.
The Indiana State Department of Health also reported seven additional confirmed deaths, bringing Indiana's total death toll to 3,562.
The department said it had administered 2,336,228 tests across the state so far, with some 134,981 Hoosiers testing positive since the outbreak began.
The number of people in Indiana hospitals with COVID-19 also continues to rise.
The latest data showed 1,232 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 on Sunday, exceeding a record set only two days earlier. On Friday, the number of hospitalized Hoosiers reached 1,187, which was the most recorded since May 22.
In Monroe County, the total COVID-19 case number rose by 28 to 2,988 on Sunday, and the county death toll remained the same at 37, the department said.
Some 48,778 Monroe County residents have been tested, it said.

Indiana’s count of confirmed cases broke records for three days straight from Thursday to Saturday, with thousands of new cases reported.
In Vigo County, the health department issued a warning discouraging large gatherings, noting that the county’s current COVID-19 cases are mostly linked to a recent apple festival and other outdoor events with a large attendance.
In Elkhart County, where both of the area’s local hospitals were full, the local health department said that “a major disturbing increase” in the number of coronavirus cases calls for renewed vigilance around mask-wearing and physical distancing.
The higher infection numbers come two weeks after Gov. Eric Holcomb decided to lift most statewide precaution rules while keeping a face mask mandate in place.
More than 1.4 million people in Indiana have been tested for the virus. Total testing has topped 2.3 million with some people receiving more than one test.
Nationally, newly reported coronavirus cases have risen in recent weeks to about 44,000 a day, and deaths are running at around 700 a day, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
