IU Health officials report that the inpatient count at IU South Central Region hospitals hit its highest number this week since the pandemic began.
Brian Shockney is the president of the region. He says both Monroe County Hospital and IU Health Bloomington have seen inpatient increases this week.
All IU hospitals continue to share resources throughout its system to respond to influxes in different areas.
“All of our hospitals in Indiana are experiencing this same increase in inpatients,” he says.
Shockney adds that every influx of inpatients IU Health has seen since the pandemic has coincided with an influx of positive cases.
He urged people to exercise caution this weekend because of increased case counts and hospitalizations.
