Round two of this week’s winter storm is expected to last until early Friday morning.
The National Weather Service is reporting 4.4 inches of snow in Indianapolis, 7 in Terre Haute, and a foot of snow in West Lafayette, with more to come.
Snowfall is expected to continue until 2 a.m. in Indianapolis, 10 p.m. in Terre Haute, 2 a.m. in Bloomington, and 5 a.m. in Seymour.
Forecasters predict Thursday’s total accumulations of up to 8 inches in Bloomington, 7 in Bedford, 5 in Terre Haute, 6 in Indianapolis, and a quarter-inch of ice in French Lick.
A few counties are under travel warnings – meaning travel is restricted to emergency workers. Individuals in Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Monroe, Orange, and Parke counties in the WFIU/WTIU broadcast area are asked to refrain from driving.
About 240 Indiana National Guardsmen are assisting state and local officials. Sixty of them are on highway teams helping stranded motorists.
The winter storm warning is in effect until 1 a.m. Friday. An ice storm warning remains in effect for far southern Indiana until 6 a.m. Friday.

Monroe County offices will be closed Friday, Bloomington Transit will end bus service after 6 p.m., and attendance at the IU women's basketball game tonight is limited to essential personnel only. Our list of delays and closings can be found here.
