Martinsville highway stretch still under 45 mile-per-hour speed limit

I-69 through Martinsville still has a 45 mile-an-hour speed limit, despite no visible road construction.

INDOT public relations director Natalie Garrett said the limit remains because of construction on the main road and final additions to the Martinsville stretch.

Some of the work includes painting walls and sound barriers, as well as placement of pavement markings and shoulder corrugations. The construction will continue through the summer. Some will be completed at night.
