Abortion ban begins, Waldron gets a facelift, Lawrence Co. celebrates persimmons | Indiana Newsdesk

Indiana’s near-total abortion ban went into effect Thursday. That means, aside from a few limited exceptions, the state is returning to the pre-Roe days. Abortion rights supporters vow to keep fighting to overturn the state’s new law.

The Waldron Arts Center is getting a new lease on life as Constellation Stage and Screen take over control of the building and give it a facelift. The first new production in the building is just a month away.

And we visit Mitchell, where the Lawrence County town is gearing up for the 75th annual Persimmon Festival.
