The winter storm warning has been replaced with a winter weather advisory along and north of I-70 as the snow gradually tapers off. Additional light snow tonight with up to a half inch in spots.
National Weather Service forecasters in Indianapolis say hazardous travel will remain a concern through the afternoon.
Brown, Johnson, Monroe, and Owen counties are under a travel 'Watch' meaning only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended.

More snow accumulations are likely across most of central Indiana today. A winter storm warning remains in effect until 7 p.m.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Indianapolis say the heaviest snow is will be during the mid morning hours tapering off at noon. Travel impacts are expected throughout the day.
A band of heavy snow has set up north of I-70 and is slowly drifting to the north. Visibilities of less than 1/4 mile have been noted within the band with snowfall rates well over an inch per hour at times. A winter storm warning takes effect early Wednesday across central Indiana. National Weather Service forecasters are predicting 3 to 9 inches of snow by Wednesday evening.
Snow is expected to come in two separate waves. 2 to 4 inches of heavy wet snow should start early morning. A rain/snow mix second wave of another 1 to 3 inches hits mid-morning. Highest snowfall rates are expected between 3 and 7 a.m.
Forecasters say the snow may be intense making travel difficult.
Indiana Department of Transportation officials say nearly 1,000 trucks will be treating and plowing state highways, interstates, and roads.
Accumulating snow expected after midnight with a brief period of rain possible at the start. Monroe County government offices are closed Wednesday. Center Grove schools and MCCSC are switching to an E-learning Day.
