IU's Jackson-Davis named first team All-American

Indiana men’s basketball standout Trayce Jackson-Davis was named a first team All-American by the Associated Press Tuesday. 

Jackson-Davis averaged team-highs of 20.8 points and 10.9 rebounds to lead the Hoosiers to a 22-11 record and a fourth seed for the NCAA Tournament, which begins this week. 

The 6-foot-9 senior forward moved up to third on IU’s all-time scoring list this season and is the program’s all-time leader in rebounds and blocked shots. He was a first team All-Big Ten and All-Big Ten Defensive Team selection this year. 

Jackson-Davis was joined on the first team All-American by Purdue’s Zach Edey, Kansas’ Jalen Wilson, Houston’s Marcus Sasser and Alabama’s Brandon Miller. 

He’s Indiana’s first first-team selection since Victor Oladipo in 2013 and just the 13 th first team All-American in program history.   

Indiana is ranked 19 th in the latest AP poll. The Hoosiers play on Friday at 9:55 p.m. against No. 13 seed Kent State in Albany, N.Y.
