Bloomington animal control is seeking help from the public to make room for dozens of dogs seized from an unauthorized breeder.
Animal Care and Control is providing on-the-spot approval to people willing to provide care for shelter dogs for 1-2 weeks, officials said in a statement Saturday.

“We look forward to welcoming new fosters into the program,” animal shelter director Virgil Sauder said in the statement.
Online foster applications can be found on the shelter’s website.
Shelter officials also say the public can help by dropping off bedding at the entrance to their building on South Walnut Street at any time. People can donate money in the early afternoons this Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
The shelter added that the Monroe County Humane Association and Brown County Humane Society were assisting.
The agency said Bloomington police and Monroe County sheriff’s deputies helped seize 68 dogs and puppies from an unauthorized breeder on Friday.
On Sunday, a police spokesperson said the investigation was still active.
