IU Program offering diversity certification

Indiana University is offering a program where businesses can learn how to better diversify their workspace and hiring program.  

The program has two sessions, fall and spring, and has five different topics. The program meets online and in-person and runs for 10 weeks. 

According to the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, IU recently created a 30 million dollar program to help create diversity in its staff.  

“The goal of the program is to help folks who see leaderships within themselves add diversity, equity, and inclusion and belonging knowledge to their leadership toolkit,” said Monica Johnson, the Assoicate Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and administrator for the program.

The program also features speakers on diversity from business and universities including Indiana’s Chief Equity, Inclusion, and Opportunity Officer Karrah Herring.  

Participants in the program must have a bachelor’s degree and five years of business experience

The fee to register is $2,500 which includes the cost of meals and the certificate. For IU faculty and staff, the cost will be $1000.
