The Indiana football team will have a new look when it lines up against Akron Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.

IU announced Monday night on social media that the Hoosiers will be wearing ‘ghost’ uniforms for the game – black jerseys and pants with red letters and numbers and white trim.

They’ll wear the traditional red helmets with the block ‘I’ and black and white striping.

It’s not the first time the Hoosiers have integrated black into their uniform scheme. IU sported black helmets – and uniforms on occasion - in the late 1990s during the Cam Cameron era.
