Jeff Ellington wins GOP nomination for House District 45

Jeff Ellington (R-Bloomfield) will be the Republican nominee in the race for House District 45. He had ???% of votes with ???% precincts reporting. His opponents Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) and Kellie Streeter (R-Knox County) received ???% and ???% respectively.

Ellington currently has a clear path to the Statehouse; Indiana Democrats didn’t hold a primary for House District 45, which encompasses all of Greene and Sullivan counties and parts of Daviess, Knox and Vigo counties.

On the campaign trail, Ellington said that his main tasks once he made it to office would be lowering taxes for Hoosiers. More specifically, he planned to look at the current gas tax rate as well as the reorganizing of property taxes.

Ellington had previously represented House District 62 since 2015. In 2022, he ran against Borders for House District 45 and lost.
