Motorcyclist dies in two-vehicle crash Sunday

The Monroe County Coroner’s Office is working to identify a motorcyclist and notify the family following a fatal crash Sunday in Perry Township, south of Bloomington.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrived around 5:42 p.m. Sunday to East Dillman Road and South Old State Road 37.

Witnesses told the deputies the motorcyclist ran the stop sign at the intersection when they were struck by a Dodge Durango.

Deputies gave CPR and used a defibrillator on the motorcyclist but were unsuccessful. They were later pronounced dead by the coroner.

The Monroe County Crash Reconstruction team is investigating the scene of the accident.
