The Monroe County Community School Corporation is seeking public input on redistricting in an online survey open until April 28.
A study commission met for the first time last week, with more than 90 members, including parents, students, teachers, staff and community members.
The school board has identified two priorities for redistricting: balancing socio-economic status among schools and cost-effectiveness.
Last year, the school corporation called off its plan to merge Childs and Templeton Elementary Schools in Fall 2025. The board said the merger shouldn’t happen in the early stages of a comprehensive redistricting study.
The study commission is scheduled to present its findings to the school board in the summer and fall of this year.
