Eli Lilly and Company has partnered with Indiana University Athletics and Purdue Athletics to feature the Lilly logo on the basketball courts at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and Mackey Arena.

The multiyear agreement marks Lilly's first full sports sponsorship, and the first time a corporate brand has appeared on the basketball courts of both Indiana and Purdue.

The partnership also brings together two athletic programs that have not previously participated in a joint sponsorship of this kind.

The collaboration also includes Learfield, the schools’ marketing rights holder.

Lilly has maintained a relationship with Purdue University for more than 120 years and Indiana University for more than 60 years. Those partnerships have primarily focused on medical research and academic opportunities other than athletics.

The collaboration creates a new connection between two of the state's largest universities, while giving Lilly a presence in two of Indiana's most prominent college basketball environments.

WFIU/WTIU News is an independent newsroom rooted in public service.

“Act Independently” is one of the basic creeds of journalism ethics, and we claim it proudly. The WFIU/WTIU News facilities are located on the campus of Indiana University, which does hold our broadcast license and contribute funding to our organization. However, our journalists and senior news leaders have full authority over journalistic decisions — what we decide to cover and how we tell our stories. We observe a clear boundary: Indiana University and RTVS administrators focus on running a strong and secure organization; WFIU/WTIU journalists focus on bringing you independent news you can trust.
