19 State Parks Closing Four Days In November For Deer Reductions

In the coming weeks select State Parks will close temporarily for deer population reduction.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has announced two reduction times, each spanning two days.

The first will be Monday, Nov. 12 to Tuesday, Nov. 13. The second will be Monday, Nov. 26 to Tuesday, Nov. 27.

The parks will close to the gerneral public the evening before the reductions and will re-open the morning after. 

The parks included are:

  • Brown County
  • Chain O’Lakes
  • Clifty Falls (archery only)
  • Fort Harrison (archery only)
  • Harmonie
  • Indiana Dunes
  • Lincoln
  • Ouabache
  • Potato Creek
  • Prophetstown
  • Shades
  • Shakamak
  • Summit Lake
  • Tippecanoe River
  • Turkey Run
  • Versailles
  • Whitewater Memorial
  • Cave River Valley Natural Area
  • Trine State Recreation Area (archery only)

The accepted applications for the hunt over the summer and only those selected from a draw will be able to participate in the deer reduction effort.
