Brown County Officials say this weekend is likely the best to see the changing leaves.

Brown County Public Relations Coordinator Aubrey Sitzman says because the warm weather lasted longer this year, it delayed peak color until this week.

"Typically it’s around the third weekend of October, but this year’s been a little different," Sitzman says.

People can use the county’s online " Leaf Cam" to check on colors before they plan a visit.

Sitzman says the county still expects plenty of visitors.

"We’re kinda viewing it as a good thing since it’s extending our fall season," Sitzman says.

Even though the rain has caused a lot of the leaves to fall early, Sitzman says it’s the perfect time to go to the vistas at Brown County State Park, because they change color last.
