NSA Crane Employee Dies During Routine Operations

WEDNESDAY UPDATE

A Crane Army Ammunition Activity employee died during routine work operations Tuesday of natural causes.

A news release on Wednesday states 70 year-old Danny Compton fainted during work and was found unresponsive. The report indicates crewmembers called 911 and conducted CPR.

He was rushed to IU Health Bloomington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Compton is from Mitchell, Indiana and worked at the Crane Army organization since 2008.

ORIGINAL STORY

A Crane Army Ammunition Activity employee died Tuesday during what the Army says were routine work operations at Naval Support Activity Crane. 

According to a press release, the death was not caused by an accident or work-related injury. But, an investigation is underway to determine the official cause of death. 

The name of the deceased won't be released until family is notified.
