Beauty Retailer To Bring More Than 500 Jobs To Greenwood

Beauty retailer Ulta Inc. will bring hundreds of jobs to the Greenwood area, Mayor Mark Myers announced today.

The firm plans to build a 670 thousand-foot facility that will create 537 jobs by 2018.

Ulta Inc. makes and offers thousands of beauty products through retail and online locations. The Greenwood facility will become Ulta's fourth distribution center.

Ulta Inc. Senior Vice President Derek Hornsby says the location is perfect and construction will begin within a couple of weeks.

"It's on the edge of growth here and we feel like we've got a lot of available work-force within the immediate area. And we had just great partnership with the city and the state," he says.

Mayor Myers says the facility will be a great shot of economic impact for Greenwood. He says it‘ll generate $75 million in assessed valuation. $30 million of that will come from the building itself and $45 million from personal property taxes.
