Update 4:25 p.m.:
A flood warning remains in effect for most of central Indiana until 9 p.m. due to the three to six inches of rain that has fallen the past few days.
Hundreds of low crossings in hilly parts of the state are flooding. Even I-64 near Evansville was closed earlier today due to high water.
Officials say it only takes a few inches of flowing water to carry away a vehicle.
Storms will move out by the weekend, leaving behind cooler temperature.
Update 12 p.m.:
Flooding will be a concern for rivers and streams across Indiana for the next several days.
"A lot of the areas are going to see what we call significant flooding and it will be flooding approaching levels in December, only it will be more widespread," State Hydrologist Al Shipe says.
The National Weather Service predicted the Little River in Huntington would crest at 20.6 feet.
In North Manchester, the Eel River is forecast to hit 13.7 feet early Saturday.
On the Wabash River, forecasters expect the water to reach 14.1 feet at Linn Grove on Sunday.
A flood warning is in effect for most of central Indiana, and a flash flood warning has been issued for much southern Indiana.
