This Month Is Third Snowiest January On Record

This month is already the third snowiest January on record in Indiana.

Indiana has experienced 23.3 inches of snow this month. The snowiest January on record was in 1938 with 30.6 inches.

"I don't think we'll get to that level, but we could get up to second place," says National Weather Service meteorologist Chad Swain, pointing out that there are several days still left in the month.

The National Weather Service predicts many parts of the state will see another two inches of snow tonight. Then frigid cold from the north will move in on Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the teens Tuesday and drop to below zero Tuesday night.
