Thousands of Hoosiers still do not have power, though electricity is quickly being restored throughout the state.
South Central Indiana REMC, which serves Brown, Clay, Morgan, Monroe, Putnam and Owen counties, reported 2,200 outages as of 9:50 a.m.
Indianapolis Power & Light is reporting more than 4,000 outages in the Indianapolis area.
Indiana Michigan Power officials say an estimated 650 people do not have power in the northern part of the state the company serves, and Duke Energy is reporting only about 100 outages.
The numbers are much lower than yesterday, when 15,000 residents were still without power.
