A federal judge has set a trial date for next spring in a wrongful death lawsuit involving the disappearance of Indiana University student Lauren Spierer.
The parents of Lauren Spierer filed the negligence suit against Jay Rosenbaum and Corey Rossman, who were with the 20-year-old when she went missing in June 2011.
As Fox 59 reports, the jury trial is scheduled for May 4, 2015 with a pretrial hearing April 8, 2015.
Attorneys for the Spierers have requested a slew of information in the case, including phone records from AT&T and Verizon, student disciplinary and academic records from Indiana University and other documents and records related to their daughter's disappearance.
Attorneys for the defendants said the request amounted to a "fishing expedition" and accused the Spierers of using federal subpoena powers to conduct their own independent investigation.
Judge Tonya Walton Pratt dismissed the lawsuit against one man late last year, but allowed the suits against Rosenbaum and Rossman to move forward.
No criminal charges have been filed in the case.
