Winter Storm Warning Over, Travel Advisories In Effect

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis early this morning cancelled the winter storm warning it issued over the weekend. Precipitation from the storm has ended across Central Indiana, but travel restrictions are still in place.

The following WFIU/WTIU broadcast counties are under travel watches, meaning only essential travel, such as to and from work, is allowed:

  • Bartholomew
  • Brown
  • Daviess
  • Decatur
  • Jackson
  • Jennings
  • Knox
  • Lawrence
  • Martin
  • Scott
  • Washington
  • The following counties are under travel advisories, the lowest travel restriction that allows all travel but encourages drivers to be aware of icy roads.

    • Clay
    • Greene
    • Hancock
    • Hendricks
    • Johnson
    • Lawrence
    • Marion
    • Monroe
    • Morgan
    • Orange
    • Owen
    • Putnam
    • Shelby
    • Sullivan
    • A travel watch means only essential travel, such as to and from work, is allowed. Many other counties, including Monroe, Morgan, Marion and Johnson are under travel advisories, meaning INDOT encourages drivers to be safe but all travel is allowed.

Another winter storm is expected to arrive in central Indiana later this week.
