New Processing Plant Brings Jobs To Southern Indiana

Federal, state and local officials are celebrating the ribbon-cutting of a $25 million processing facility in southern Indiana.

Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann says the opening of Washington-based Alliance Barrier Films is evidence that growth along the I-69 corridor in southern Indiana is taking hold.

Ron Arnold, Daviess County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director, is excited about what this means for the community.

"We're just tickled to death and I think this is the start of something that, certainly for that area, bodes well," Arnold says.

The Daviess County Economic Development Corporation also says steps are being taken to construct a shell building and rail spur on property near the company headquarters.

About 60 new jobs are expected to be created with the opening of the facility, which makes film for the packing industry.
