Bald Eagle Dies After Hitting Power Line

Indiana conservation officers say a bald eagle was electrocuted near Peru after swooping down to feed on an animal carcass and slamming into high-tension wires.

Conservation officers responded after a resident called to report the incident.

The eagle was not fully developed.

DNR officers say eagles have excellent eyesight, but don't have good peripheral vision when honed in on a target, which likely led to the eagle diving into wires.
