Bucket Game Will End Indiana, Purdue Football Seasons

With no bowl game, the Indiana and Purdue football seasons come down to the last contest - the ‘bucket game.' The only Big Ten win from both schools comes from a Purdue victory at Illinois.

Indiana head coach Kevin Wilson says freshman quarterback Zander Diamont is still getting comfortable since starter Nate Sudfeld and back-up quarterback Chris Covington suffered season-ending injuries in October.

"It's really about this being our best week," says Wilson. "And more about the preparation and the week and everything that we try to do which is constant consistent improvement and having a good week because if you do that, some of those things will start to happen. And we've shown flashes, but we haven't shown the consistency."

Saturday's meeting marks the 90th battle for the Bucket. Last year, IU won 56 to 36 setting a team Bucket game record in points and rushing yards.

The game is also IU's Senior Day. Twenty-six seniors will play their last game at Memorial Stadium. Kick-off is set for Noon.
